The homeowners of this Takoma Park craftsman had been thinking about updating their kitchen for some time. The layout worked well for them — so we kept it entirely intact and focused on what would make it feel new. We designed the cabinetry to run floor to ceiling, with craftsman-style cherry uppers and clear glass mullion fronts that give the kitchen its architectural presence. The cooktop moved to the peninsula, opening the cook to the room rather than the wall. A soft celadon tile backsplash and warm quartz countertops complete a kitchen that feels considered without feeling unfamiliar.
