This renovation began with a structural decision to remove the wall and peninsula that had segmented the main level and restore the flow the house was missing. We introduced a full-length island that now unifies the space and defines areas for prep and gathering. The design features a high-contrast palette where perimeter cabinetry in white forms a light-reflective envelope, while the forest green island provides a furniture-like presence. Specialized utility is woven throughout the plan, including a custom dog feeding station and dual pot fillers located at both the range and the pet station. Glass-front cabinets with warm wood interiors echo the tones of the coffee station and hood accents, while integrated lighting adds depth to the cabinetry.The same commitment to material depth carries into the primary bathroom, which serves as a sanctuary of Old World texture. A freestanding hammered copper tub acts as a sculptural centerpiece, with copper vessel sinks set upon furniture-grade vanities anchoring either side of the room. In the shower, hand-glazed indigo tiles create an immersive environment, accented by aged brass fixtures that provide a brilliant contrast to the dark surfaces.
