French Countryside Classic

In the heart of Capitol Hill, this French countryside-inspired kitchen is defined by furniture-grade cabinetry and a serene lavender palette. Having lived in this rowhouse for over 20 years, the homeowners sought a renovation that would evolve with them. The design centers around a professional black and gold range that serves as the visual focal point against a bright, classic backdrop. While the space feels effortless, the home’s irregular, nearly octagonal footprint required a highly technical approach. Rather than forcing symmetry, we worked with the angled walls to ensure every cabinetry run meets with precision. This architectural thoughtfulness is most evident in the dining area, where a clever hidden door discreetly reveals the new entrance to the powder room, solving a decades-old flow issue.Upstairs, the focus shifted to a dual-bathroom retreat tailored to individual styles. Her bathroom is bathed in natural light from the skylight, highlighting a sophisticated mix of marble tile and editorial wallpaper. The space remains beautiful and functional through the discreet integration of grab bars that blend seamlessly with the hardware. In his bathroom, the aesthetic leans classic with crisp subway tile and custom glass. This renovation ensures the home remains as intuitive as it is stunning, allowing a storied history to continue in the neighborhood the owners have called home for decades.
